Let me be your voice.
Jerry Desormeaux - Ward 5

I am a hard working small business owner and I interact with the community on a daily basis. I hear what the people want and it's time to take a stand for our community. I will work hard for you. It's time to move our City forward!

About Jerry Desormeaux

My name is Jerry Desormeaux. I grew up in the Val Caron area as a child, and returned 11 years ago. I am a proud father of 4 wonderful daughters and have been happily married for 14 years.

I have been a small business owner here in Sudbury for the past 10 years. I enjoy being active and being involved in my community. This has always been important to me.

Although I do not have a great deal of political experience, I am a blue collar worker and a concerned tax payer in this City. I have decided that it is time for me to step up and run for Council and I look forward to positive changes in our City.

I look forward to working with the residents of Ward 5, the Mayor and City Council.

My Platform

What I hope to bring to chambers:
- Let's move forward with the entertainment district with minimal to no cost to the taxpayer
- Affordable housing, programs and transportation for our seniors
- Affordable child care for shift workers

Bring other modes of transportation to our city ie: Uber
- Work on aging infrastructures
- More accountability and transparency in City Hall
- Work on a playground/splash pad for Valley East
- Fairness of taxes for our city (personal and business)
- Clean up the downtown core
- Promote Sudbury to industry and tourism
- Attract new doctors to set up practice in our city
- Lower fees on new building permits for new developments
- Address the OLD Sudbury General Hospital location, which has now become an eyesore.
- Release the burden on tax payers with a large amount of city projects
- Common sense on budget and money savings for tax payers
- Cease mismanagement of tax payers dollars
- Replace the lack of leadership we currently have in City Hall
- Stop the corruption in City Hall

As your next Councillor for Ward 5, I would like an opportunity to engage and interact with the residents, address and meet the needs and concerns, and help improve and encourage more development and expansion in our community.
